Innovative yes and no

I will say this is somewhat innovative yet I have seen the various stick figure action fights and light saber battles. Let us not forget Animator verses animation which this clearly inverts the inspiration. Instead the animator is the one who has to fight for his life.

I like this piece but I will not say its the first of its kind. The twilight zone with a character with my namesake "Anthony" destroys his sister by throwing her into the TV. As for a flash styled yes it is new.

You managed a nice short but sadly this could become more. Try not to make things happen too quickly.

Lastly, I can tell this took as long as you said it did and you definitely have something to be proud of. You have talent and I am glad you are exploiting it on Newgrounds.

AlmightyHans responds:

yea i meant somthing new on newgrounds, this is also like roger rabbit, ad all that stuff, i just havent seen a good quality flash with human and cartoon interactivity. thanks for your review buddy

Continual play makes improvement

MontyCarlo,

Your graphics are pretty decent. Its your style. I am not saying that your voice stinks but it does not hurt to dish out some new voice creations. Both characters sounded exactly the same. Also it was a little short but I do understand it takes a great deal to create fluid animation which is your strength. Trust me you have it I a support kids in a video class and the majority of students claymations look terrible. Yours look very professional.

Saying this is great is an understatement!

Callum, I cannot say I have seen such a playful and brilliant Sprite animator as yourself. You ability to not only tell a story but create action that makes your audience beg for more. You bring a liveliness to your pieces that has yet to be challenged. You make people jealous of your work but I have to say for a kid you can even inspire us adults.

Thanks for a wonderful short series!

This was good and original

I have to say this piece was weird but it was an excellent use of multimedia. My only complaint is the hanging scene I can see some of the box to her right side that could be removed by erasing. If you can fix that I would have rated your graphics better. It was bluntly violent but I still liked it.

DominoEgnallangE responds:

I didn't see the warning at the bottom.....

and I have another coment to make. The soundprob will be updated tomorrow (21. nov. 2006)

About the Graphic box.. It's a symbol. not a drawing.. Therefor it cannot be removed.. sorry.. Just overlook that little thing.

A bit confusing at times

My problem is I don't understand who is good and who is evil. Also how is this kid involved. I love your changing of camera angles and your sketch-style animation. I know that some of my concerns are intention but we need to be drawn in a bit more.

I am not complaining with the results whatsoever!

A face lift rewound

I really do love your artistic style. In honesty, the Clock Crew is growing old and needs to change to keep us loving the true talent hidden within your relm. I am not sure a totally new faction is necessary. Yet, I am not complaining about the results.

ClockCommunist responds:

Yes, I'm not complaining as well ^_^
I wish more people would think the same way you do, but I guess that's asking for too much too quickly.

Strong direction, artistry, and char development

This piece was a pleasure to watch. It reminded me of Adam Philip's hitchhiker shorts. I found you chose a totally original style of character design which really made your piece shine.

Can't wait for part 2!

Can this be any better?

You are a master at making us feel your characters emotions. I love your protagonists connection to the boy in the photograph. Her fear to shoot only tells us this is not just a war for a survival but the letting go of family members who are lost. I like how you present war as a battle in the heart.

I bet I will be watching I and II sometime this afternoon!

Ah the Oedipus Cycle

Don't forget Antigone more sad stuff to come for Oedipus's uncle who defies the gods by leaving Oedipus's son to rot instead of burying him.

I guess some love Greek tragedy and other well don't.

I loved your combination of anime and crappy NGs style animation it made this piece hilarious. Anyone who was forced to read Oedipus Rex will love this and those who have not spoiler included in this flash!

MarIsPotatoes responds:

GODDAMN IT

I hate anime D:<!

New innovating and overall fun to manipulate

I loved this piece and can appreciate your work out of empathy. I recently made a movie with a cast of 9 6th graders and an 8th grader. Popping characters in and out can be a daunting task. I may try to rip the short from the DVD and post it on my site. I loved the menu but the interactivity needs work. First, don't let the puzzle pieces move too far from the cursor this was a confusing part. Other than that I loved how your character resembled anime and the voice actor was mysterious and successful.

I hope to see more!

Jx-Imagine-it responds:

Thanks, I will take your advice into consideration and try to improve on the menu.

I have a great deal of experiance with video, animation and am a software engineer by hobby. I also have helped 6th graders in an after school program make a 20 minute short and their own animations using Appleworks.
