I liked it just as well the first time

I think the opening is a great way to catch your audience off guard. I like how you demonstrate something special about them but you hold off the explanation for the actual episode. The effects were innovative and memorizing. I really started to like what I was seeing from start to finish. Your characters are quite transparent not flat which makes them more complicated and will help you really make your audience love their performance.

Hope to see episode 2 and not 1 for the second time.

thats for the very arty review. and thanks for liking the intro. That intro is the only one of its kind. We've planned this series to be like a movie If you played each episode one after another.
There still will be an opening credits per episode. Just not like that. More of the credits rolling as the episode is playing ;)

An ode to a my favorite MM character

It reminded me of a Jonny Cash Ballad. Many great angles were used. Sprites were customized and not just borrowed. It was very touching and easy to follow for any Protoman enthusiast.

Thank you for noticing. I spent many a long night drawing beards!

Understanding of the video game not required

The drawings were good and the comedy random I felt helped make it more funny. It reminds me of 30 second bunnies from Stars. The voice acting though good showed your weakness for listening and editing. I could obviously here the popping in and out of the microphone which could easily be cut out using audacity. Nobody wants to here pops because it makes the piece seem fragmented rather than fluidly animated.

Galneda responds:

That's an excellent point, and it only further pushes me in the direction in getting better equipment for future projects. I noticed the problems, and I did what I could editing the channels on a lot of the wav files...you should've heard it BEFORE I edited some of that stuff out...

But, in hindsight, that was only the loud changes...I should've edited out the more subtle pops as well.

Thank you very much for taking the time to review this, I also never thought of ZOA in the same-light as the 30-second bunnies, but I take that comparison as a compliment! Thanks again!

An excellent beginning

I loved the play on two and three dimensions. Both drawings and claymations were fluid and lips syncs were prime. Nice work.

Nice one Ansel

I have known of Luis's prowess on newgrounds and his preference for mouse versus global position based mousing since his clockday submission of 2006. He is correct that one can make great pieces without a tablet. I did stuff like his when I was 13 in the early days of paint on the macs..

Glad you liked it

Strangely entertaining

I really liked how fluid your animation flowed it seemed planned out and given enough parts to shine. Its a bizarre piece but feels very European riddle in mystery. I love your balloon or liquid style character that follows your protagonist. I definite believe this is from a dream given the multiple meanings riddled within. Your protagonists face seems a bit boxy but the missing mouth seems to send a deeper meaning.

Not bad for 2 days of work.

No exploding celebrities...?

I seriously love your work but it just seems to have lost your unique charm.

Not bad...quite entertaining

I really was somewhat impressed. I almost was disappointed by the Naruto pieces until I noticed the nice little hand movement cut scene. Oh, the Avatar is not Anime. It follows the Disney phonetic mouth style which makes it American style. Just because it includes Asian culture does not make it anime. It has to be the style of art used.

ssjbryando responds:

Yea I know avatar is not anime, but because kensei's entry was one of the best, I still allowed it.

Nice Obama voice

I may not be a big fan of the content but you have an excellent voice for Obama. The drawings were overall very well done.

Must watch all the way through to enjoy

I almost stopped watching this because it looked too busy and a literal mess. I am glad I chose to watch it all the way through because there is a great deal of work. My only gripe is the formulas and other things that draw us away from the animation and confuse us. It reminds me of a piece of abstract art in motion.

I have a great deal of experiance with video, animation and am a software engineer by hobby. I also have helped 6th graders in an after school program make a 20 minute short and their own animations using Appleworks.
